  • Tasted this aside the '97.

    Nose has a big candied pineapple aroma with hints of soft mineral. Right out of the bottle there was a small hint of oxidation but it soon burned off and lead to the candied fruit. Dark gold in color and a medium, medium plus body. Still has enough acid to provide good lift (something the '97 lacked) and great balance between the fruit and acid driven mineral finish. Candied pineapple and lemon zest dominate the palate with hints of mineral on the finish. 30+ sec finish that really shows the mineral and a slight savory hint that isn't present in the wine itself.

    My first encounter with a white burgundy this old. Loved it.
