  • Brick red color. Very darkly fruited, a bit extracted and boozy on the nose, but also vibrant and nice fruit. Smells much like a 2006 Oregon Pinot Noir would expected to smell. Very softy fruited on the palate. Nice mellow texture. Really no tannins to speak of, with nice acid on the finish with good vibrancy of fruit. I actually think this bottle is drinking on the downward side of peak. No real tannins left, so time to drink, but it's also not too far gone; maybe have been more vibrant a few years ago.

  • Seven+ years old and holding its own. One of the best under $30 2006 Oregon Pinot's I drank in 2008 that is still magnificent. Very much a Pinot but with healthy tannins I don't recall from previous bottles drank when released. Will continue to age well. Barnyard that blew off after the first glass, complex dark stone fruit, delicious. Beautiful aromas, great acid.

  • I thought that this was the most unique tasting experience in the Willamette. a pole barn perched on the top of a on of the Dundee Hills surrounded by vineyard. The son of the vineyard manager conducted by tasting and I purchased several wines because each vineyard was distinctive. The Nekaia 2006 is brick red in color with a darker than usual color and normal weight. 3 The nose is classic Pinot a combination of dark cherry and mushroom earth and a lovely floral overtone. 5 The most important aspect of this wine revolves around its velvety texture, more weight than usual, with a moderate acidity and soft tannins and an extended sweet cherry finish. 6 Delicious, well made, breed but not pretentious. 3 I continue to enjoy this wine more than any other from my trip to Oregon with the exception of Archery Summit and Bergstrom. I have not tasted my Stevenson -Barrre wines. 17

  • Popped and vinturi'd tonight. Nose of light cherry and vanilla. Light bodied w/flavors of cherry and a dash of vanilla. Pretty good.
