  • The nose was an amazing savory bouquet with smokey and woody notes, beef broth, cherry skins, and secondary notes of flowers and dill (also just a slight note of acetone). Deep red and brick in color. Still has strong acidic structure that sticks through the entire palate without being overwhelming. Nice and bright. Just a touch over medium bodied with cherry and strawberry notes up front and a strong salty broth note on the rear. Hints of mushroom and smoke as well. Finish is nice and long and just as complex as the wine itself as it continues to change and evolve for over 90+ seconds.

This is drinking well now and probably for a year or so more bit I wouldn't hold on to it for much longer.

*Second Day: The wine is much smoother, creamier, and rich today. Showing loads more fruit and WAY more balance than yesterday. It was a nice wine yesterday, today it is great. Drank along side a 2006 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses on both days and yesterday the Burgundy was clearly the better wine now, I'm not so sure. Moral of the story is; decant this wine before drinking and you will be pleasantly surprised.

  • This bottle was a gift and I had no sense of how it tasted so I was pleasantly surprised by the vibrant berries and smoky taste, some sediment at the end for a 2005, it was very good.

  • Needs to open for about 30 minutes - but after that, great.

  • A bit cloudy with an interesting color. This is pleasant and nice Pinot. Something makes it smell and taste like a low production product - not mass produced. Woody with ripe (but rustic) cherries. A delight.
