Seemed closed on opening and not at all that interesting. I confess, a little unimpressed at first. And that sure didn’t last for long. Gradually revealed more and more nuttiness and honey notes, which are classic roussanne benchmarks. Then I started getting the finish of maple candy, but completely dry, with medium/full body. With air, the amplifier of nuts, honey and maple candy just seemed to get dialed up more and more and didn’t let up. Dry maple candy seems roussanne dialed up 11 to I have only used. the term “bass notes” with reds before to indicate a depth of dark flavors, so this is the first US N. Rhone style blend that made me think of that term. Hell, this is the fat bottom girls of American roussanne. I’ve tasted hundreds of US N rhone blends and this stands out big time. SOH may have something special with roussanne in that vineyard, holy crap. 4+ (out of 5).

Really liked this at tasting room in Woodinville. Did not disappoint at home. Paired it with a homemade charcuterie board.
