This is a gorgeous Blaufränkisch at perfect drinking age. Dark fruits, nougat and tobacco on the nose. Excellent balance on the palate with perfectly ripe fruit, balsamic texture, sweet and ripe tannins, perfectly balancing acidity, never too heavy despite 14% alc., elegant nougat, blackberries and prune flavors, the oak is totally absorbed by layers of fruit and some dark chocolate. Drinking great now but will continue to to drink well for several years. Excellent QPR. - 91 points

Juicy mix of red and black fruits with spices, coffee beans and tobacco. Slightly grippy tannins, medium fruit intensity, blackberries and prunes, nice balance and never too heavy, a rather strong oak influence adds tobacco, coffee, dark chocolate and some cedar notes. Very complex aromatics and the typical prune flavors of an aged Blaufränkisch just start to emerge. An excellent Austrian red wine. Drinking well now, but should continue to drink well for several years. - 90 points
