Kutch Grand Tasting Round 1; 4/25/2022-5/3/2022 (FMIII in the OC): Mind boggling this bottle was 20 years old. I really enjoyed this for the surprise and the flavors of strawberry and cherry. It doesn't have much nerve at this stage but entertaining regardless

Kutch Retrospective Sonoma County Chardonnay/Sonoma Cost Pinot Noir; 4/30/2022-5/1/2022 (FMII’s in San Juan Capistrano): Pulled the cork and would have sworn it was in year three of bottling. Barely 1/16” penetration. Would have guessed the same by the way the wine showed. Lots of fresh fruit, almost too much, looking for some acidity to poke through. Lush strawberry, raspberry, cherry fruit but not over-ripe, just a bit flabby and not showing much structure other than the fruit. I have one more bottle in my cellar that will likely wait until 2027 to see if the fruit fades a little and it takes on some secondary flavors. A variation from the bottle I opened in 2018 which displayed much more acidity.

Bricksh burgundy red, nose of dried cherries, mushrooms and sage. Creamy texture, strawberry rhubarb pie, nice dose of acid, chewy tannins, long tart finish. Winner!

Red brick color, subtle fruit on the nose, very pleasant texture, smooth on the finish. Possibly past its prime but still an excellent example of Russian River pinot noir. Paired with filet, grilled asparagus, and roasted potatoes.

This pinot is very good right now but I sense will be excellent for some time to come. Nice cherries in the nose with excellent follow through in the flavors, balance and finish. Exceeded my expectations.
