  • Diessenhofen on a saturday evening. Pairing it with cote de boeuf from niedermann In schaffhausen. Beautiful purple color. Dried berries, herbs, olives, green capsicum, forest floor, vanilla, black spices, wet mushrooms, really a lovely nose. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, dry tannins, med finish. Perfect balance, dried red fruits, greenness, vanilla, pepper, nice lingering salinity. The mouth is less impressive than the nose. Still very enjoyable.

  • A reasonable effort in an unremarkable vintage which I thankfully have very little of across the region. The sister bottle to this one was heavily flawed, but this one drank fine. The 2008 was better. This '07 was lighter in color and lacking as much interest in fruit and overall depth and length.uch more pleasant by comparison to the flawed, but not the best showing for PC overall. Probably ly not a lot more life in this year, so drink up.

  • Bad bottle. Corked reeked on opening and wine had a nose of funky brackishness with a lot of eucalyptus, depressed fruit, and challenging Brett/barnyard. Opened another bottle from same purchase which was vastly better.

  • Nicely mature, not overly aged but now with tannins light and the deep stone fruits, light notes of leather and herbasous grass coming through. A short decant with modest sediment thrown off. Nicely paired with grilled chicken thighs and eggplant caponata.

  • Could’ve been a bad bottle. Wasn’t impressed. Lacked depth. A bit flat and tannins that weren’t well integrated.
