A touch closed on the nose on open. Licorice, black currant, bell pepper, spicy, pencil shavings. Med bodied, still with mod+ tannin, but not so much acidity. Med-long peppery finish. Black cherry, earth, pepper, bell pepper on the finish. Nicely balanced.

Deep purple. Medium intensity. Smooth tannins. Long finish. Very nice. Drank at the same time as a 2007 Bodegas Castaño Yecla Dominio Espinal Seleccion. The Yecla was sweeter and had more pepper on the nose than the Laurent Mabileau. Excellent value. My wife reacts to some sulfites – no problem with this wine.

Phenomenal value, lovely cab franc flavours with a real sense of terroir. Went out and bought a case.
