92 for the wine, 98 for the experience. This wine is 53 years old and still alive and vibrant. Browning with a pale meniscus. Intense savory herbaceous nose. Flavorful attack on entry, sweet red fruit flavors, a bit alcoholic, nice long finish if a bit hot. I love chateauneuf-du-pape and have had other old bottles, but this is an amazingly youthful bottle. Completely ready to drink, but not cracking up or fading. Alas, the only bottle I had -- I would love to give it 5 years and try it again. .
