Drinking well but not overly impressive. Good everyday wine but wish it had longer finish. Wine improved greatly after half hour. Would suggest decanting for an hour.

Dark purple on the pour; nose of dark red and black fruits, pepper, spice, leather, cassis and violets; palate of vibrant dark fruits, pepper, toasted leather; very juicy and very smooth; tannins are becoming nicely integrated and but show plenty of life; nice acid and semi-long finish.
While this wasn't terribly complex, the wine was nicely made and pleasure to drink over several days while not losing its character or typical Howell Mountain profile.

Afraid this got past its prime. Slight prune with little very little fruit finish. If you have it in cellar, drink up as it will not get better

Trip to Napa Valley; 1/30/2011-1/31/2011 (Napa, CA): On the nose, oak, blackberries, and heat. On the palate, red berries, oaky, high acidity, very hot. Very unbalanced and disjointed.
