Bottle 2667. Opened and poured. A thick morass of sediment clings to all sides. This potent, jammy aioli spreads across the tongue with a heady dose of deep black cherry, raspberry, blackberry and toasty notes. Humid hoisin notes on the nose, with all the aforementioned fruits, and some drying Indian spices. Thick, glyceric, potent, and altogether delightful for this night....alcohol getting integrated ok and not too hot. Certainly showing no signs of slowing down - there is enough here to last 20+ more years. One or two more and will try to hold for another 5-10 years at least.

Given this bottle from Michael Browne at the winery in '12. Signed at our wedding by guests. Let breathe about an hour in the glass. Somewhat muted nose as a whole. Dark spice driven red fruit, chocolate covered cherries and a hot finish are what I'm getting. Not my favorite bottling from KB. Probably smart they stopped the Syrah bottlings.

Overly alcoholic after opening, but then goes back to more normal levels after half an hour of breathing. Ripe red cherries , black fruit, meat and some spices emerge and the wine becomes rounder, and fresher. Still too alcoholic imho, but certainly nice.
