Decanted for two hours, light ruby color, cork had hardly any stain and a somewhat reserved nose. But on the attack we discovered candied cherry fruit with a very pinotesque finish. In fact, If I were tasting blind, I would have thought this wine to be a New World Pinot. Very enjoyable.

Clear dark ruby/burgundy core that fades to a lighter burgundy color then watery rim. Medium plus viscosity and day bright reflections. Slowly poured into decanter, light sediment noted in bottle. After about an hour air time aromas present with lovely dehydrated raspberry and strawberry notes that intermingle with aromas of red huckleberry crushed dried rose petals, lavender, rendered bacon fat, briar patch and white pepper that seasons nose. On the palate, lively with crisp, focused acidity and soft delicate tannins; Voluptuous texture and flavors of cherry, Chambord and cranberry with white pepper, wood, roses, and touches of stone, herbs, and bacon fat. The finish is moderate-plus. Refined and Elegant. ONlY 5 barrels produced!

Same comment from 2 1/2 years ago, except that I'd also note a nice spice quality to the nose.

Fruit still fresh, good acidity, nice brambly quality to it all--pretty much ready to go on opening and held through the evening.

Had with J. Havens at the Grinvitational. Deep purple in color. Flavors of smoke and dark cherries.
