Nice midrange 5 year old. Opening was dry as a bone, Next day fuller with a trace of sugar. greenish and true to the varietal. Bit salty. Extremely versatile. But up against an Alzinger or other contenders just doesn't have that pizazz one hopes to find.

Anita: Green hues; very mineral aspect, w/white pepper, green notes of fresh bell pepper, or cucumber, or something! icycle, snow cone minerality. lemon citrus in mth, too, like unsweetened lemon drops. Almost remeinded me of a chablis, but with that fresh veggie note. Excellent w/dumplings/lite fried rice, beans.

On the nose some white stonefruit, grass and hint of ripe melon and also the sensation of something rotten. Some subtle fizz at once. A fairly big wine with excellent acid and an astounding finish. Quite full bodied for a federspiel. I liked it a lot, a very good wine. [Note: I'm not particularly fond of grüner veltliners]

Everything tastes great with Gruner. Crisp. Peachy. Food friendly.

Perfectly enjoyable but otherwise unremarkable gruvee.
