  • Aromas of ripe citrus, orchard fruit, minerals and a touch of vanilla and toasted bread. Medium-full bodied with good acidity and a fairly round mouthfeel. Plenty of lemon and some stonefruit on the palate. Good length with a minerally and slightly nutty finish. On the second night, it seemed slightly flabby, so I wouldn't plan on holding on to these for too long.

  • Corvees des Vignes is a vineyard located in the north-eastern corner of AC Puligny, kitty-cornered to Meursault Charmes. So one would expect it to be a fuller, richer style Puligny since we are at the lowest elevation and likely on flatter land, and also given the vintage. Aromas of ripe lemon, minerals, white flowers and just a little touch of toasted bread. While rich and full of ripe citrus fruit, this had surprisingly good acidity to cut through everything. The classic tautness that one expects out of Puligny. Excellent restraint in the use of oak as it merely serves to give a little roundness and just to add a little bit of complexity. Glad to have a good White Burgundy after a string of oxidized ones.
