No decant. Initially focused, this bottle began to unravel over 2-3 hours with dinner. Visually showing advanced age - thin rim & primarily brick toned with just a bit of darker color in the core. Early nose of leather, menthol, tar & rose hips. Black fruited palate began to dissipate over time. This bottle suggests no further aging warranted, though others have reported better recently.

About the only flaw here is some drying/gritty tannins on the finish, but otherwise this is pretty open for business, with sour cherry fruit and menthol on the nose, lively acidity and decent persistence. I don’t have a lot of this left, but off this bottle at the age of 17, it should have no trouble at all drinking well at age 25, and it might even make it to 30.

PnP. Fairly mature. Lighter body with a tannic bite on the back end. Mushroom, red cherry, mineral. Decent length.

Fully mature. Loads of sediment. Classic cherry fruit, sweet and tasty. Decent acid, not very long or complex.

This bottle was oddly slightly advanced - hints of raisin although it blew off a bit the next day. I’m guessing that this is an off bottle.
