Decanted for 30 minutes. Overripe red fruits, tar and spice on the nose. Very little fruit on the palate - pepper, some blackberry. Thin, metallic finish.

With only 3 left of the 06 in the cellar, I pulled one to see how it was evolving and pretty much determined it is drinking perfectly right now. The fruit has mellowed as has the tannins resulting in a very smooth and pleasantly drinking old world style wine.

On the nose: Strawberry, raspberry, licorice, sweat, pepper, fur, and some heat...Tastes great... Chateuneuf-like. Nice mouth-feel, though a bit thin in the back-end. Acidic. Finish dissipates rather quickly. Rustic and savory. Meaty at times. This has good substance, but let it open-up first.

Big fruity Grenache. Tasty, but undistinguished.
