Decanted for 2 hours. Slightly orange/amber and brownish red color. Mature nose, sweet red fruits, caramel, vanilla, licorice and earthy leather aromas, just beautiful to breathe in. Silky and soft palate, caressing with resolved tannins, sweet red cherry fruit, plums and a bitter cherry finish. Excellent.

Tasted many of their 89’s. This one has so much more life and years ahead. Just opened, see where this will develop. Definitely needs some time to open up and unwind. 1989 was the first year this cuvée was produced. So a special bottle. *After 5 nights not that expressive. Could spend more time in the cellar. Still somewhat youngish. Built to last long.

Silky and elegant, fruit is ripe and expressive with nice acidity. Fully mature but has plenty of years left to go as this is in a really great place right now. Rayas vibes at 1/4th the price. Very good.

Tasted double blind. This a very complete wine with an impeccable structure and texture as highlights - very Burgundian for a CDP and so harmonious and light (I doubt todays CDP will ever reach a state of so much elegance and weightlessness). The complexity is another highlight, especially showing on the palate. 96/97 points - a wine you could drink liters of...
TN: Sweet red and dark red fruit, herbs, mint, slight barnyard, intense, med- precise, super fresh and inviting. The palate is a bomb with a perfectly melted structure, very elegant, creamy, light and fresh, no alcohol, almost Burgundian. The complexity is high with aromas of res fruit, some dark berries, spices, lots of herbs, cola, earthy notes, tobacco, underbrush. Very complete and superbly balanced with a good length.
Decanting: Double decanted two/three hours prior. Not much more needed.

Double-decanted which I would strongly advise. Sweet red fruit abounds on top of leathery and wet earth base notes. Regrettably there were a few oxidation notes tainting the picture - but at least for now this was nothing a good swirl couldn't resolve. This also unleashed a plenitude of sweet spices, dried herbs and tobacco. No issues what so ever on the palate which showed incredibly harmonious and fully integrated with a dense, satin-like texture and a lively fruit.
