(Schafer-Frohlich Felseneck Grosses Gewachs) This is just better than the previous three. Period. A step up in everything. Amazingly complex nose you cannot believe. Kaleidescopic in its breadth yet every angle and precise turn finely etched. The palate is juicy and slatey at the same time with gobs of minerality that is austere but grows precise with aeration. There is so much material here that I see this wine lasting much longer the other three. The structure here is incredible. As well as the finish.

(Schafer-Frohlich Felseneck Grosses Gewachs) This bottle is a monument to the vintage with its laser-like precision and astounding purity. Lots of flavors of lime, lavender and delicate stone fruits. Great acidity and tremendous and I mean tremendous length. Took two days to get going really well but once it did oh man. It is amazing how year after year Tim's GG's get cleaner, tighter and purer. Up there with Keller with some of the top GG's in Germany. Awesome wine.

My first of a 6 pack. A wedding year wine on our anniversary.
Slate and ripe fruit on the nose. Apple, kaffir lime, grilled pineapple, and florals. Structured yet lively and fresh on the palate. This has terrific depth coupled with filigree fine detail. A crystalline distillation of soil and fruit. Toothsome extract and while it has the ripeness and the fruit turning toward yellow of the vintage, this has poise and harmony. Felseneck is privileged earth. At peak and while I doubt it will fade anytime soon, I also doubt it will improve much. Delicious. Mouthwatering.

bought from the winery, I guessed 2009 Emrich Schönleber, because of the ripe yellow fruits, missing a bit the freshness. At his peak but no hurry for the next 2-3 years. I had it better and more focused. Not too sweet. 91-92

Schäfer-Fröhlich Felsneck 2007 (dekantert 6 timer) har denne komplekse, fyldige men lette preget over seg med mengder av søte frukt i en tørr drakt. Nøtter og honning, høy syre og lang lengde. Magisk til smørsaus med massevis av amalfi-sitron. Moden, tørr riesling blir ikke bedre enn dette.

Ingen notater, men en strålende dyp intens lang vin. Nydelig til hummersuppe med fritert kongekrabbe.
