Definitely not Burgundy style. Aging but still strong. The bitterness is significant from just into the mouth and lasts very long. Just to note for myself, avoid this wine.

The Reed 30th anniversary PN from calera. the total standout. as long as i was there, no one dared to open up another pinot noir, especially when this one was on the table, as it would have made every other pn seem weak. This. is. aged. pinot. noir. The only other worthy adversary would have been an overpriced burgundian red. The stark contrasts are that this one was still holding on to quite a bit of herbaceous bing cherry, dirty red licorice, brambleberry spice whereas the echezeaux was starting to turn more savory, almost as if to declare itself to be more of a syrah than a pinot noir. finishes with white pepper spice, black tea, eucalyptus. really wholesome wine. still has about 5-10 yr with proper cellaring, but definitely a joy tonight. 94 plus.

Unbelievably youthful. Outstanding wine with great fruit and the beginning of secondary forest floor nuances. Owned since release.

Bricking in the glass. Herbal nose. Great mineral, fruit and spice. This is fresh with great lift.
