Probably just past peak at this point, but still some good ripe fruit... plum and black cherry. Plenty of leather, a little oak. This is big and very dry on its own which I really like, but it’s able to be tamed by some wood-fired pizza with special meats and cheeses. The balance was wonderful, and this proved to be a real treat. Great lasting finish. Give it 20-30 minutes after opening. Drink up and impress some of your better wine friends. 92 pts.

Lots of fruit remaining on this but sediment is pretty impressive. Nose was ripe bursting cherries with a noticeable chocolate. The palate is pretty intense and reductive red fruit with notes of leather and spice. Finish is robust and satisfying. My guess is this is at its peak and is drinking nicely.

Not what I expected. There may have been problems with storage/shipping prior to my receiving this as a gift. Or some other problem with the bottle. The cork looked good. Wine was opaque black and smelled like raisins. Pretty blah. Even after aerating and decanting, no change. Not much sediment when I decanted.

Aired for a couple hours, but could use more. Opaque dark red. Mild mint chocolate camphor nose. Dense ripe sweet fruit, but not like a new world Merlot. Fruit gives way to puckering acidity with significant tannins and a lot of long complex secondary notes - spice, smoke, cedar. Interesting wine. I liked it but it is a bit overwhelming.
