  • Hazy garnet in the glass. Nose and palate of red apple peel, red cherry, rose petals. Fruit forward, but not a bomb by any stretch. Medium full body. Medium acidity. Medium plus tannins that assert themselves fully on the finish. Heavier than expected for a Grenache, but that just makes this all the more satisfying especially eleven years on. Pork roast is the order of the evening. Thanks, Peter!

  • Another reason why Grenache is becoming a favorite of mine. Great red fruit out of the bottle with subtle earth tones showing up after it got some air. Drank over two days and the nose changed from good to great. Would buy again.

  • Very nice grenache. A little barnyard funk on the nose, but nice fruit (mostly cherry) and good acidity on the finish. A good QPR, I may have to search out some more next time I'm in Sonoma.

  • Very good right now, but definitely young. Nose mainly of intensely concentrated cherry and cloves with some earthiness underneath. This is a substantial wine. Good acidity and drying tannins on the finish; well balanced. Alcohol pushes 15%, but the effect is mainly to give a hefty body to the wine; not much heat noticeable. Somewhat astringent tannins dominate the finish, but rather concentrated. I think this could improve with some time to resolve tannins and to let bouquet evolve. Right now drinks like a Zin with great finesse and structure and less briary "aggressive berry" quality, or perhaps could be compared to a Spanish Garnacha that's very polished without the rusticity.

Edit: Improved over time, definite decant wine. Very concentrated, just not quite enough complexity and elegance yet to be outstanding.
