Finally got to this wine, and well, it's delicious! Somewhat Burgundian, but with much more forward "dried fruit" , way higher alcohol and but something special in the entry and exit! This wine sits on my tongue, for minutes upon minutes!
Pale med Ruby - no garnet yet! Usual PN berry nose and palate. My CT brethren have described it well enough already.
Blue and red berries. Earth , black garden soil Cedar in bunches!! Pipe tobacco sweet
Body medium Alcohol high Acid med high Viscosity- fully enveloped mouthfeel Finish- long 60s + ,(wow! Getting better as it opens!)
This is a fabulous wine if which I'm uncertain is getting better, but it's not near the end of it's drinking window.
That said, I'm not sure there's a reason to wait until it's past it's present stage, unless one wants to experiment. It's 16 years old... Let's venture, say 20-25 max? So that's, Maybe... Maybe not?
I'll definitely buy more... Just a new vintage Awesome!
Addendum - 24 hours later.... left a glass overnight with cork in bottle and inside kitchen fridge. And that forward fruit was heightened. This is not an appealing character of this wine. But, I think it's the only one. (With porterhouse)
PN 100% 14.9 abv
PS - Drink The Rainbow!

Similar tasting notes to previous bottle, but lacking a bit of verve.

Delicious ripe dark fruit with earthy and floral notes on a silky smooth palate, open nose, and long finish. Continues to age beautifully!
