Delivered all 3 attributes I look for in a Monastrell a few years in the bottle: 1) Good fruit, even if softened by time; 2) rich mouth feel; and 3) Gentle tannins. A nice wine.

I get a lot of dark berry on the palate, with just enough tannin to make it interesting. Excellent with flank steak. I vac-vin'ed it, and it was even better the second night. I would be a great QPR, but the first of my two bottles was definitely flawed and undrinkable, which cuts the ratio in half.

(Casa Castillo Jumilla Monastrell) #2; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-heavy olive action; sweaty sock component that I find appealing; substantial candied strawberry jam nuances; PALATE-very dry; I think this wine is awful; completely disjointed and off balance w/ the heat on the back-end; tannins are dominating; not showing much else; flavors are muted; fruit is poor to average at best; JM-90; JM-90; GV-68
