Eastside Bordeaux at Jan Olav's (Majorstua, Oslo): Light brick. Fungus, rust, aceton and sweet spices on the nose. Complex. Medium body. Elegant and delicious. Long, dry finish. 30 minutes after opening it gets slightly oxidized.

This bottle was absolutely nothing special. Thought it would be a good match with Thanksgiving dinner, but it left us disappointed. Slight notes of cherry on the nose; hardly any fruit on the palate. Medium finish. A bit alcoholic.

It was okay. Nice to drink an old vintage that is a pomerol, but I could not appreciate the value in this wine at that price level. I've had $9-15 bottles of bordeaux that were just as good if not more interesting.

NY/NJ WLTV Offline at Anthony Davids (Anthony David's, Hoboken): Earthy and minerally nose with red (as opposed to green) bell pepper, which was kind of interesting. Well integrated structure. Medium body, tannin and acid. A bit short on the finish.
