  • Cherry and blackberry with leather and earth elements on the nose. Soft dark fruit palate with muted tannins and acidity Very easy drinking but nothing outstanding. My last bottle of this and probably a good thing.

  • Purchased for $27, a long, long time ago. Purchased with the intent to start a vertical to go along with my 2003 and 2004. Funny how life gets in the way. I knew I had this, but it was buried deep in the cellar. This has been through several moves, so it hasn't seen the best cellaring. But this is still surprisingly good. Obviously all secondary notes of leather, earth, barnyard and funk. Very slight hints of juicy cherry and strawberry. More of the same on the palate, but there's nice juiciness to the red fruits. There are hardly any tannins to speak of, but it's not flabby or flat. This actually got better with some air. If you have any left, you should drink up soon. But this was really pleasing to drink tonight. Grade: A-

  • Dark berry nose with a mesh oxide dark berry mouth soft tannins and still sufficient acidity and fruit that it was enjoyable. I suspect it’s past it’s prime.

  • brick with orange rim - pleasant nose of mixed red and black cherries - some complex smells developed over an hour - tannins largely resolved but still in presence - good acid - could have had more fruit and richer body - medium length finish - a good food wine which is drinking well now, but underwhelming for a super Tuscan

  • This was OK, it shows a bit of bricking around a dark core. Fruit forward and deep, with ripe to baked fruit that reminds of a Salice Salentino. It was a bit flat in the middle and closed with some pleasant earthy notes and dust. This is probably towards the end of it's life, though I know this particular bottle was not always stored in ideal cellar conditions.
