Medium to full body. Big wine for Beaujolais. Nice nose of cranberry, rose petals and kirsch. Still a bit tannic. Low acidity. Not sure if more time is needed. The fruit is there, but falling to the background. Flavors of dark cherry, licorice and cassis. Hits above it's weight. Would like to find another bottle.

More impressive than the bottle we had last Christmas. This seemed to have a bit more weight and seriousness. Still strawberries and cranberries but a darker wine this time around. Impressive.

Left in a Burgundy glass near a cool, dark window for an hour before tasting. Darker burgundy red in color; barely translucent. The nose is intoxicating bringing one through a 180-degree seasonal gyration; whereas the first day of Spring is just two days past, this is knocking on Fall with it's autumnal scents of dry leaves, coniferous droppings, raw cranberries crushed into a jam, fresh rose petals, and brewing, moisture bound storm clouds. Lower on the meat and spice elements that often define the MaV appellation. I would summarize the nose as raw, sweet, subtle and refined. On the palate, this is ripping raw with the ultra-sour and somewhat bitter taste of unsweetened cranberries. The transition from this sweet and civilized nose to its bracingly tart and acidic, smack-it-to-ya palate was at first shocking. Riding atop the nervy, taught sour-juice baseline is a smooth, at times even creamy Gamay expression that is certainly reflective of a more "Pinostic" disposition; lots of nice earthy terroir embellish the middle and finish (medium length w/ darjeeling black prickles rising in the encore). This is more evidently tannic and seeming structured than any of the many 2009 Cru Beaujolais I've tasted over the past couple months. I'm not sure if that owes to the vintage, producer or age of this wine, perhaps all three. I have to admit my preferences must have changed since I last tasted this wine back two years and three days of yesteryear. The sour cranberry and tart red cherry fruit added to the terroir and almost emotion inducing nose have me absolutely in love with this bottle of wine. And I have no more and so am sad.

This is one of the best bottles of wine i've had. 3 generations of my family (all non-wine drinkers) enjoyed this. It went incredibly well with pork. Strawberries and cranberries attack the palate. The stuff is very smooth with an amazing cranberry sauce finish. I will buy more. I can imagine this is better than a lot of $75 burgs.

(Potel-Aviron Moulin a Vent VV) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-gorgeous nose; beautiful strawberries; little hint of rose petal bouncing; strawberry jam; strawberry Twizzlers; cream puff action; some beef jerky action as well; quite seductive and delicious; TASTE-crazy silk; very smooth; like "butta"; luscious, explosive, silky & smooth; beautiful; very floral; tons of rose petals; firm back-end tannins; very serious wine; has Pinot Noir characteristics - really luscious fruit; just gorgeous; I'm now getting drenched in heavy layers of cranberry on the finish; great tannins; rose petal, strawberries and cranberries; will last 4-7 years; great with pork; this is REAL Gamay; one of the better QPR's we've had; WS-90; GV-93+
