Sweet aromas of vanilla, blackberries and cassis on the nose give an impression of a fruity, even grapey, ripe wine. The fruit on the palate however is not as ripe, with cassis, vanilla oak and cocoa carrying onto the palate with a dry finish. A bit alcoholic, but the wine maintains a certain balance between fruit and acidity. Quite nice, but I feel it was missing the characteristic Syrah spiciness.

This was a pleasant surprise. Popped, vinturi'd and poured, has an expressive nose of jammy blackberries, vanilla and smoke. Delicious nose. Medium to light bodied, those blackberries come on strong on the front palate. Slightly hollow mid-palate and short smoked, toasted oak finish. Simple but refreshing over-all. For a 10$ bottle of wine this was very good. Low acids, very low on tannins, ready to drink now.

One of the most heavily overoaked wines I've ever tasted. Not my style at all.

good dark berry fruit with pepper finish; waaay too much not yet integrated oak for my tastes; low acid, medium bodied.
