Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Popped and poured. And what a nose: Pure, sweet, unadulterated fruit bomb-ness. But without a spec of heat. Really nice, like a high-end, balanced Shiraz. More of the same on the palate, with a pronounced oak influence that became a little overbearing after 45 minutes or so. Without knowing exactly what the field blend is here, something about the tannic structure suggested this had a lot of merlot in it to me. Pretty long. Not all that complex but impeccably made, well balanced and very pure. Don't let the commemorative hockey label fool you: They slapped it on a really good wine. 90+.
