  • The last of my three bottles, still drinking well 5 years after purchase. Solid effort from Josh, and one that I have enjoyed as it evolved. It was very fruit forward and Zin-like at this stage, which paired well with our black bean chili. Subtle floral notes in the aromas. Very nice for $20.

  • A really lovely red blend (Cab and Syrah, if I remember correctly) which is showing its age beautifully. Black currant and black raspberry flavors, with a nice peppery edge in the aftertaste. Still lively, with that lovely lushness from a wine with some age on it. Perfect for winter roasts this holiday season

  • Enjoyed over 3 days. Notes from the 3rd day:
    Color: Garnet.
    Nose: Cassis, cedar, mint.
Palate: More cassis, some raspberry liqueur. Not heavy or overdone. Zippy acidity keeps things lively, along with the medicinal quality of the cedar and mint. Get some black earth and cinnamon on the back end. Tannins on this day are non-existant. Flavors endure with a 20 second finish.

First two days were enjoyable, leaning to more a jammy black and blue fruit profile. I also got some retro-nasal alcohol that I found pleasant. Overall, I liked it best on the 3rd day, as I look for those flavors in my Bordeaux blends. It's good now, and has come a long way since early February. I think it will be even better in 4-9 months, or with a plate of braised short ribs. (89-91).
