Black currant, plum, anise, cinnamon, pine tar, and smoke. Not flabby, but it's big. It runs a little hot and is not what I would call "classic Napa Valley" cabernet. But, damned if I don't want this at my next steakhouse dinner or while grilling up burgers in the backyard with friends. In fact, it almost seems like a prerequisite. Drink to 2032.

- Brick color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, black currant, raisin and fig with a full body. Juicy texture with a long finish - Great to pull this one from the cellar and see the fruit still forward. First glass right after opening felt stiff but last sip of small pour had opened to show the great complexity and balanced fruit.

Decantered over two hours and opened up very nicely. Soft and smooth though this needs a right accompliment on the food side to do it justice. Bold structured Napa Cab.

Magnum. Double decanted and then slow ox for a few hours. I've had mostly great experiences with Staglin and this was no exception. Very structured and balanced wine that drank well over about 3 hours. I would say the 750ml have to be in a great place right now too so go ahead and pop them if you have them.
