  Subsequent notes on this wine from 5 years ago. Deep dark garnet in color with no signs of aging. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries & plums, with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, herbs, anise, olives, cocoa/coffee, spices, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing. Even at 16 years of age, it still has limited potential for further development with a few more years of additional aging. Fill was in the lower neck; cork was stained on bottom 1/3 but intact.

  Reddish black with bricking. Soaring aromas of ripe black cassis, cherries, hint of pipe tobacco and smoke. Full-bodied palate shows rich and ripe black fruits, hint of saline/savory note, medium-low acidity, a long fruit dominated finish with slightly drying tannins. The ripeness of 2007 shows but this is thoroughly enjoyable.

  Simply outstanding wine. My only regret is it was my last bottle. Very smooth and a mouthful of delicious fruit that is very, very rich.

  Contrary to the redigaffi earlier this week the Notri is in a perfect drinking window. Very smooth, sumptuous wine, harmonious, raisins, strawberry.
