  • Mid garnet; classic Bordeaux bouquet with tilled soil, cedarwood, graphite an d pencil lead joined by cassis, sweet red plum and forest fruits.
Medium-bodied, the entry is quite dry with a gravelly texture, some fairly ripe fruits that veer more to red than black. Notes of cedarwood, black cherry, tar and a lick of vanilla the wine seems a little foursquare (square-jawed) with firm, chunky tannins. It doesn't feel that complicated but rather approachable with a modern feel (quite a note of toasty oak) to the mid-palate. It hasn't the concentration or complexity of a top wine, but a lovely drink. Well put together, medium finish.

  • Dark, bright. Nose of leather and meat. Velvet tannins, clean fruit, and sharpish back end. Cherry. Modestly savoury. Good. Some very fine sediment.

  • Very dark hue with crimson tints. Profound nose with delicate oak and roasted coffee scents and notes of graphite, cherries, currants and cassis. Very aromatic and intense. There is more of the same on the palate with notes of leather, a wonderful fullness melted tannins and fruit that is starting to show through even though the finish is still very oaked. Loads of fresh acidity and a clean tart cherry aftertaste. Classically framed claret with elegance and grip and a long, satisfying finish. Typically I would suggest drinking this wine within the next five to eight years. However, I suspect this wine has the potential to age well and might be cellared for a much longer period in order to gain maturity and additional character.
