Commanderie de Bordeaux MN: First Growths at Demi (Demi, Mpls): Deep gold color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes plus. As always a wonderful nectar of orange marmalade, honey and cardamom, botrytis, grilled pineapple, apricots, toasted cocnut, rich but lifted and long. This bottle was youthful in color with that character showing beautifully tonight at 34 years. 94+ to 95pts.

This has been open about a month in a small capped bottle. Pretty perfumed nose - apricots, barley, orange and orange blossom, a bit of butterscotch - spicy w a touch of volatility. Palate is delicious - apricots and orange and organs blossom, butterscotch. Some thickness and creaminess. Nice botrytis spice. Big boned but the time open has helped tame this and it’s really in a groove. right now. The finish is thick and maybe not a good as the palate spicy and a bit volatile either butterscotch and apricot. Overall just lovely. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.

Wonderfully concentrated marmalade flavours, this is beautifully fresh still, a complex and complete package.

Annual Tasting Group Holiday Party (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Small tasting pour. As good as ever, love the tangerine, honey and spice, still vivid. 93to 94pts.

Alarmingly dark brown. Lively brown sugar sweetness on the palate. Lovely.
