Blacker than the ace of spades, and I was a little frightened that this could be one of those 'blow the roof off ya mouth' type Shiraz. It is rather elegant with a touch of menthol along with sweet dark fruits and some light botanicals to the aroma. It is rich and creamy in the mouth with a big flavour hit of Haigh’s dark chocolate, blood plum, tar, smoked meats and a little mint. There’s some sour cherry V.A that adds vitality and lift and the whole package is well balanced, powerful and energetic.
