Extremely tight when opened, needs a LOT of time in the decanter. A very powerful and interesting nose of blackcurrant, blackberry, black olives, unsweetened cocoa, along with savoury facets, spice, and something almost akin to...dust? Marvelous to smell and you could really get lost in the nose. Palate has huge amounts of black fruits. It's as if every black fruit known was concentrated in this bottle. The olive and savoury notes, with something almost blood-like, really play off the fruit. Despite the intensity, there is also a real precision and finesse. The tannins are iron-fisted, but the texture silky. I've always enjoyed tannat from Gascony, but this is a revelation. It is (just) approachable now, but has years left. I would have to agree with those who have said this is one the best Argentinian wines they've had. An interesting and very enjoyable wine.

Decanted for 1 hour. Gorgeous on the nose...I could smell it for hours. Lots of ripe blueberries, cigar box, vanilla, cedar and very subtle oak. On the palate, this is full bodied, big, chewy, slightly astringent wine powerful but refined tannins. This is by far the best Tannat I've ever had and one the best Argentinean wines I had so far. Astonishing! Drink now - 2020.

(El Porvenir Tannat Laborum) Expressive nose of sweet tobacco, red plum, and cedar. Well-balanced, delicious fruit—black and red cherry, plum, and boysenberry jam—and smooth, integrated tannins. Excellent. Wines of Altitude, Wines of Attitude

A bit past peak, with drying plum and fig notes and fading acid

Ultimate ripeness and balance. Has thrown a lot of sediment. Full bodied and pleasant finish.
