  • A really interesting wine. I've copied the notes from their web site at the end of this note. Quite dark, meaty, rhony, nose, perhaps just a touch of brett, but more interest than distraction; dark, rich, meaty, deep plum/blackberry flavors, excellent structure, though drinks quite smoothly, plenty of flavor intensity, touch of dried herb, but not at all ripe or sweet. An outstanding result from the vintage. I think I only had one of these, wish I had more, and probably should have waited to drink this lone bottle.

"Grapes : Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, Clairette, Carignan, Counoise,
Vinification : aging in french oak

This elegant yet powerful, rich, concentrated and long wine is a modern classic example of south Rhône. Made from three vineyards ranging in age from 50 to 90 years, Wanted was aged in French oak for twelve month.

This mineral, complex, and well balanced wine is a blend of château de Saint Cosme's top cuvée « Gigondas Valbelle », château Pesquié's top cuvée « Ventoux Artemia » and château Montfaucon's top cuvée « Côtes du Rhône Baron Louis »."

  • Ripe, round, plummy nose, vanilla, cherries. Lighter body than the nose suggests. Quite tannic, slightly bitterly oaky, very dry. Hot finish. Hot pruney aftertaste. Very young and grenachy, not for me.
