Like Brian’s note below this wine is singing. Perfectly stored and bought at auction this has the orange peel smell wrapped by stewed tomatoes and silky tannins. One of my favorite cake producers this wine over delivered.

Beautiful and silky after 23 years! Red cherry, strawberry, and red plums up front. But mostly has given way to tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, figs, spice, orange peel, and stewed tomatoes. Still has some acidity to it, soft tannins, and nice finish. Perfect spot right now...these age so gracefully.

This tasted of cherry brandy at first, which I took to be a sign of superannuation. However, my fears were unfounded: this was an intact, well-structured wine, low acidity and tannin, with an array of spice and fruit flavors that were at points suggestive of root beer. (I like root beer.)

(Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino) Intriguing sweet plum, cocoa, raspberry nose; tight but tasty, cherry and plum palate, should age well; medium-plus finish

Still very good, but I don’t think you should wait any longer.
