Seavey Dinner (bellwether): Really loved this wine. Yes - it's getting to be more secondary as the primary and so it's all spice and herbal notes but it's still quite vibrant and fresh and pretty. Drinking well. Out of mag.

Still hanging in there, tho losing a little fruit body. Structure still excellent - mineral and acid. After half hour to an hour in glass, really evolved, and was fabulous

The color is similar if not slightly darker to the last time I had this six years ago. The nose shows some tertiary notes, the palate is sweeter than I recall. It is full of cassis, leather, dark chocolate and espresso. The tannins are fully integrated. The mouthfeel is that of whole milk. The finish is above average. This has aged perfectly and it is now at full peak. I don’t think there’s reason to wait any longer. Although the liquid is clear, there is a considerable amount of sediment, so decanting is advised. PAIRING: Parrilla Argentina [A+]

Nose was showing signs of serious age but the palate was still decent. Def on the decline but still a good experience. Drink up if you have them there is nothing more in the evolution process that will be positive.

Corked magnum.
Update 9/20/2018: this was purchased from the winery. Today I received a replacement (1997 CS magnum).
Great wines come from great people. Thank you Dorie, et. al.!
