  • Nice clean, pure fruit profile of rasberry and strawberry. Light mouthfeel that gained some weight. Interesting terrior notes that wove well with the fruit. Lightly spices as well. Well balanced, not hot considering the alcohol level. Good deal for the price.

  • Strong bouquet. Full up front slide fade at finish. Well done but does have a slight touch of tht fake fruit at first

  • Drinks well. Refined, but not overly complex.
    Very earthy.
Thin red fruit flavor - strawberry, cranberry, cherry - wish they were bolder.
    Nose is bland.
    Minimal oak.
    Dry on the palate.
    Apparent alcohol.

Not outstanding, but certainly no where near the worst. 86 is the minimum score that I would give this wine.

Will gain complexity in the years to come.

  • darker than your typical pinot, but still jewel bright and reflective

nose--spicy cajun meat rub, LOTS of booze, mushrooms, meaty, umami? behind the earthiness is your typical fruit: sweet strawberry, sweet cherry syrup, kirsch. the alcohol is pretty overwhelming on the nose, the high ethanol makes me think of hospitals. hints of tack shop and horsehair.

mouth--slightly mushy strawberries covered in dry dirt. hints of cured meet, bresaola especially. kirsch again because this is SO BOOZY! it says 14.5%, but i'm guessing higher. rough, a bit rustic, but with underlying elegance. it's like a jug band playing mozart or audrey hepburn covered in pig shit--in a good way.

or at least an interesting way. sadly, the high alcohol burns my nose and masks a nice acidity. typical pinot tannins, maybe a bit higher than average creeper tannins from the oak, but the alcohol has me all turned around. long, but not epic, finish. i'd rate this a lot higher if the booze was in better balance, although it might just be too young. would be interested to see this again in a few years.
