At least in my case, past its peak. dark color, but slightly 'rusty'; sparse on fruit, moderate on tannin, a little corky taste (and cork was breaking up).

My last of three bottles purchased at auction about five years ago. Ladera is one of our preferred Napa Valley producers. Popped and let it rest for around 30M. Opened up beautifully. Fruity nose of black and red fruits. For an 18 year old Napa Cab, this was drinking beautifully. Still very fruit forward, with blackberry, black cherry and raspberry notes. Med+ acidity and Med- tannin. Superb mouthfeel. Aged well, with great balance for a big wine. Crazy long finish. Can't imagine a better drinking window than this. Took a couple points off the rating, as this is a cocktail wine thru and thru. Since wine is really meant to be enjoyed paired with food, I fight with myself rating these Napa Cabs. If you have em, drink em up.

Delicious. Medium bodied. Cherry and other red fruits, a smooth, balanced texture, and a great snappy finish. This would be a great buy at $45, and is an immense value at the price that I found it at.

1st bottle of 3 purchased at release. Stored at 55. Dark red. Nice Napa Cab. Typical Napa dark fruit, some spice, and a little coffee. Rich Napa in the mouth, soft tannins, 20 second finish. Wife gave it 93. Went well with grilled tenderloin.
