Big vibrant fruit with all the hard edges smoothed out. Very cool to see what a WA wine can taste like 23 years past vintage. Solid now but still probably has a number of years left.

Nose: very intense blueberry, forest floor, black cherry, fruit pie and pine notes. Rather sexy. Palate: balanced tannins, not super ripe, a bit watery on the mid palate, but otherwise nice aftertaste and the bottle in general showing well. 30 min: intense blueberry perfume, darkens up, chocolate on top. 1 hour: The oak becomes more and more pronounced over a couple of hours, also to an extent, where it is a bit too much. Tannins a bit more focused. 2 hours: Oak and sweetness too pronounced. Probably peaking now (but maybe even more 2 years ago) but should drink well over the next 3 years.

Crap!!! ! Stemmy, bitter green bell pepper, flattening fruit, astringent acid.......soooo sad for me . I had bought 4 of these on release and drank 3 over the first couple of years in cellar, however it has been at least 3 years since I last visited it and boy did it turn into a sucker.
