Was a little concerned about this considering the vintage, but it was a terrific showing that highlighted all things Rouget and Cros P. Incredibly spicy and had lots of that zesty, saucy tomato. Powerful and concentrated but never overblown. Texturally fascinating on the palate with detailed mineral and soil. Black cherry and a little oak polish but with all the fruit stuffing to stand up to it. Highly aromatic and expressive, which was impressive given the darkness and density to the palate. Glad it showed well.

a very ripe aroma of fruit intermix with coffee and spices, very VR from a warm to hot vintage. sweet and silky tannin gives you a very comfort balanced palate, can approach young for a big wine and warm vintage although it has a long way to go but doubt that it will ever be on the elegant side

The 2003 Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanee ‘Cros Parantoux’ 1er Cru was dark in colour and a big ripe wine. It smelt of jube like fruit and purple flowers. In the mouth it tasted of dark plums and was quite sweet and fleshy. It had some cold tea like tannins to the finish. It is a good 2003 but certainly a wine marked by the vintage.

Extremely big and ripe on the nose and palate. Dense red and dark fruit. Spice came out over a couple hours. Super ripe. Very 2003. I expect this will improve, but the ripeness makes me wonder where it will go.

Three Kings Day Celebration in Memory of Patrick Fegan (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Very ripe black fruit with excellent concentration. Lots of spice, slightly more meaty than typical Vosne 1er, but very alluring nonetheless. Persistent and long finish. Very impressive for the vintage. Thanks for sharing, Cory.
