  • This is my birth year. Celebrated my 44th recently with friends at O’ in SF and brought my magnum of this to share. Obviously YMMV with this kind of age, particularly if you’re drinking out of a 750, but this was spectacular from a magnum. Leather was definitely the predominant note for me, but still some berries on the edges, with good acid, and at this point the tannins had softened pretty much completely. It’s always “intertesting” to drink an old wine (I won’t say “very old” given that it’s my birth year) but this was just excellent. I would have loved it blind, even absent knowledge of its significance.

  • Final btl, and just a spectacular showing. The era of this style of CdP has very much passed. Soft mint, garrigue, briary leather. dried raspberry...so complex. On the palate: lovely acidity, black pepper, soft leather, raspberry, completely attenuated tannin...Wow.

  • Great looking bottle. Most likely late release from the Domaine. Sadly it was barely alive. Not undrinkable but not much pleasure.

  • Consistent with the bottle of ~ 7 weeks ago, with the exception that this (served double-blind) was a bit more fresh and elegant. I got back to this after it had been open a few hours, and it seemed like it had hit a wall, so to speak, and was done developing in the glass. Tertiary but not to the point the fruit is dried out, etc. That said, absolutely drink soon for maximum freshness. recommended

  • Drink now; some bottle variation. This was in the middle of the road as far as drinkability, and remaining drinking window. Medium-bodied, with acids slightly dominating the mature, dusty, forest-infused wine. Nicely herbal at times, this should be drunk sooner than later based on this particular showing. 14,0% abv. Recent prices are obscene given this experience. That said, it was complex, but seemed to take at least an hour or two before it was really in the zone. Memorable. recommended
