Opened at 3:30 but did not decant. Aromas of blackberry, currant, lead pencil, plum and dusty berry. Flavors of black cherry, blackberry, currant, balsamic and leather. Ends with a 30-35 second finish with black cherry notes. Has a bit of a twang to it. Not as good as the previous bottle.

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours.
Purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of soapstone, cassis, violet and plum. Flavors of cassis, plum, Bing cherry and boysenberry. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold. I'd drink.

Smooth with depth, could continue to cellar for another 5-8 years. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cinnamon and violet.

Sadly seemed past its prime. My wife didn't like it, she tasted licorice on it. I thought it was okay, nothing spectacular.

Excellent bottle of wine, and, boldness which we enjoyed in earlier bottles softened up.
