A hefty wine with beeswax, honey and lychee from attack to finish. Definite minerality but a nonetheless ripeness as well. Lemon drop, creamed corn, stone fruits, orange blossom, honeysuckle and honey, beeswax. This is textbook mid-valley Loire. 13% alc. With shrimp galette and cheeses. On a late night Friday by the terrace fire. 05.05.23. Highly Recommended.

We pulled this as a second bottle for dinner after finishing off the Mellott Les Romains. Frankly, the table preferred this wine over the Les Romains. Was it the heft of the wine or the honey and lychee finish of the wine? No idea, but both appealed to me. The color is a captivating yellow. The nose is ripe yet offers some minerality too. Lemon drop, creamed corn, stone fruits, orange blossom, honeysuckle and honey, and a bit of lychee as well. The notes just keep coming. What wasn’t finished off at dinner went down quickly and equally enjoyably the next day. 13% alc. With Creole shrimp over creamed corn. 07.23.22. Highly Recommended.

I liked this a lot! Stone fruits, honey, almost a little wax, minerality, with a nice finish. Paired with sushi - it was a great choice!

This creeps slowly towards maturity. Plenty of latent character, real depth & intensity. Sappy, tight focus, with ‘minerality’ a theme throughout.
