Purple in color. 14.5% ABV. 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from the acclaimed Klipsun Vineyard. Super nose of red and black fruits, cigar box and graphite. Medium body with strong acidity. Rich and plush with tremendous structure. Black currants, cassis, tobacco and earth on the palate. Nice length on the finish with prominent tannins. Lots to like here. Best over the next 2-4 years.

I liked it better when it was young. While the wine has mellowed out into a fruit filled smooth finish, the bouquet leaves a lot to be desired. It took at least an hour to open up.

This is still locked up tight. Not much really enticing on the nose, seemed very dry with harsh tannins still, oak did not even pull me in to want more at all. Seemed to get a little better towards the end of a long dinner. Should have decanted for sure.

Friends and I tasted this in the Woodinville tasting room on 3/15/14. It had a deep, rich bouquet of smoke, plum, black currant, mocha and char aromas. The palate was tight, layered and dry with flavors of plum, blackberry, blueberry and mocha. 91+
