  • Dark red - more opaque. Big legs. American Oak. Little tca? Some stewed fruit. Tannins are smooth. Many appreciative nodes around the table for this one. I liked it, but not as much as others.

  • This is a spectacular wine, crushed violets, tar, tobacco. Served with fra diavolo chicken, wilted chard, and chipotle sweet potatoes.

  • Opened a couple of hours before drinking and it improved over the next couple of hours. One of my favourite wines - well in the drinking window but with room to develop.

See through red with hints of browning. Wonderful floral notes on the nose with a hint of cedar and spice. Incredibly smooth in the mouth with a good balance of acidity and oak. Spice and vanilla with fruit still present, reasonably long finish. Impeccable balance as Aagrawal noted.

  • Opened Nov. 4, 2023 at my sister's dinner party. Because I wanted to share it, I only had about 5-6 ounces. The aroma was the first thing I noticed--very aromatic. It still tasted fresh and fruity but delivered more than just the fruit. There was some depth and spine to the wine. It drank quite smoothly and may be at its peak for those who prefer freshness over aged qualities. I really appreciated the balance in this wine. Critics notes find floral elements in the aroma as well as fruit and other scents.
It did have some floral aspects in my opinion but in an elegant, not overpowering manner. The best Spanish wine I've had since my last taste of a Marques de Murrieta Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva some years ago at a charity tasting for Red Cross. (I am not really into Priorat wines.) Hard not to go back for another glass. Others at the dinner party appreciated it too.
