  The bouquet shows restrained, medium-intense aromas, mainly on the fruity side with white peaches, tangerine peel and peeled almonds. Similar aromas on the palate, with a slight limestone minerality, light melting, medium+ acidity. Does not quite have the expected depth and freshness, rather a flattering wine that should not be drunk too cool. Medium length.

  See previous notes. Lemon, orchard fruits, honey and salinity. Medium plus body. Don’t drink too cold. Paired with branzino, ceviche and salad.

  My first Savennieres, and I am smitten! Excellent acidity, cut the grease from our chicken dinner. Long finish. Complex,; it awakens my taste buds. Creamy. What a find.

  A private lunch (Restaurant Europa, Amsterdam, NL): Magnum. Clear and precise expression, chiselled and fine, warmth from the wood and subtle bitters, lovely tension between ripe fruit with a tropical edge and steely acidity, very good length.

  2 days in San Francisco; 4/2/2023-4/3/2023 (San Francisco): This was a bottle buy at Angler SF. It was decanted for a little bit and it just lit up the glass with deep tones of flint, pear, jasmine, quince, red apple, saline, lemon drop, crush rocks, yellow flowers, and peaches. The Medium bodied feel is so balanced, refined, and deep while being supported by racy, high acidity that makes your mouth water almost instantly. I've only been introduced to Boudignon in the last couple of years and am constantly floored by them. What they are doing with Chenin Blanc and in Savennieres is something wonderful and I can't get enough of these wines.
