BYOB HT14#2; 10/12/2014-10/13/2014: #BYOB - A decent CdR with all the expected attributes. Syrah pepper on the nose together with some matured red Grenache fruit, olives, bay leafs and prunes. Good structure and good intensity but nothing to get excited about.

Semi-dark red. Nose a little muted, but plesant enough. Rather high acidity and round tannins. A little dry dark fruit. Drank without food, would have been good with pizza.

Popped and poured, paid AUD $20 for this and I'm not impressed. The nose is better than the palate. I get a nice whiff of dusty chocolate with raspberry jam and burnt orange - it's really nice. I get very very little on the palate. I would say it tastes like red wine - and that isn't good. I might get a bit of pomegranate but there is no finish whatsoever. Girlfriend says 'no finish and now I've got heartburn.'

Fruity, nice. A decent Rhone...nothing special, but good value.
