found this quite by chance at the grocery store. talk about old stock! the first day is was tart and uninteresting. day 2 it opened up and deepened immensely
palate: dried strawberries galore, sweetness with good acidity and balance. nice minerality. woody tannins still kicking after 9 years. finish adds some beautiful oak texture and earthiness and keeps going beyond
deep and soft and structured. me likes alot

It's hard to find a good merlot. For the price this is pretty darn good. Big nose of lavender, toasted almond, and coffee. Big fruit palate up front of blackberries and maybe a hint of the coffee from the nose. Intense tannins on the back end. Per others I agree another two or three years in the bottle will tame this wine up nicely. For a cheap everyday drinker this suits me fine though.

I agree that it could use some more time in the bottle. Intense blackberry fruit, but the tannins were a bit much on day one. On day two, this had improved some. Definitely has potential.

This wine needs more time in the bottle. I opened for Thanksgiving and had one glass. It shows promise with some nice fruit flavor, but still relatively hot on the mid palate.

Had with several hard cheeses - cheddar, mahon, aged gouda and it was delightful. Smooth, dark, easy to drink.
